VW 508 00/509 00 - engine oils meeting the standard

The VAG concern (Volkswagen AG) has developed the VW 508 00/509 00 specification for oils intended for selected gasoline engines (VW 508 00) and diesel engines (509 00) with an extended change interval (Longlife) where low viscosity 0w20 is required and meet the exhaust emission standard. EURO6. In particular, these will be engines installed in brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda. This specification is not backward compatible so oils in this specification cannot be used in older engines. Oils in the VW 508 00/509 00 specification are characterized by a low ash content (Low-Saps), which allows them to be used in engines equipped with diesel particulate filters (DPF) and GPF. The VW 508 00/509 00 specification complies with the ACEA A1 / B1 standard.
